چکیده

O ver the past two decades, arthroscopic rotator cuff repair has become one of the most popular orthopaedic surgical procedures because of its proven ability to diminish pain and improve function in patients with symptomatic rotator cuff tears. As a result of this increasing demand, arthroscopic techniques have evolved rapidly in an effort to improve structural integrity, biomechanical function, and, ultimately, clinical outcomes. With the increasing number of techniques available for the repair of fullthickness rotator cuff tears, debate has arisen regarding the clinical superiority of any one of these methods over the others. Specifically, this debate has centered on traditional single-row versus traditional double-row repair constructs (Fig. 1). Therefore, the purpose of this article is to present a critical review of themost relevant evidence and to provide clinical care recommendations regarding arthroscopic single-row versus double-row rotator cuff repair constructs.

Posterosuperior rotator cuff tears: classification, pattern recognition, and treatment.

The posterosuperior rotator cuff, composed of the supraspinatus and infraspinatus tendons, is the most common site for full-thickness rotator cuff tears and represents a significant source of shoulder disability worldwide. Recognition of and classification of full-thickness tear patterns are essential in order to optimize surgical treatment and to improve prognosis. Until recently, tear pattern...

Single-Versus Double-Row Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Repair in Massive Tears

BACKGROUND It is a challenge for orthopaedic surgeons to treat massive rotator cuff tears. The optimal management of massive rotator cuff tears remains controversial. Therefore, the goal of this study was to compare arthroscopic single- versus double-row rotator cuff repair with a larger sample size. MATERIAL AND METHODS Of the subjects with massive rotator cuff tears, 146 were treated using ...

Outcome and Structural Integrity of Rotator Cuff after Arthroscopic Treatment of Large and Massive Tears with Double Row Technique: A 2-Year Followup

Purpose. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the functional outcome and the tendon healing after arthroscopic double row rotator cuff repair of large and massive rotator cuff tears. Methods. 82 patients with a full-thickness large and massive rotator cuff tear underwent arthroscopic repair with double row technique. Results were evaluated by use of the UCLA, ASES, and Constant questionnai...

Outcomes of single-row and double-row arthroscopic rotator cuff repair: a systematic review.

BACKGROUND Arthroscopic rotator cuff repair is a common procedure that is gaining wide acceptance among orthopaedic surgeons because it is less invasive than open repair techniques. However, there is little consensus on whether to employ single-row or double-row fixation. The purpose of the present study was to systematically review the English-language literature to see if there is a differenc...

Clinical and structural outcomes after arthroscopic single-row versus double-row rotator cuff repair: a systematic review and meta-analysis of level I randomized clinical trials.

BACKGROUND The purpose of this study was to perform a systematic review and meta-analysis of all available level I randomized controlled trials comparing single-row with double-row repair to statistically compare clinical outcomes and imaging-diagnosed re-tear rates. METHODS A literature search was undertaken to identify all level I randomized controlled trials comparing structural or clinica...
